Duke is a tall and well-built man with pale red hair, and bright, shiny red and golden scales peppering various parts of his body. They are most prominently visible on his upper face, appearing similar to eyeshadow. Duke has large, dark grey horns that curve behind his head. The ends of them are gilded. He also has a forked tail that follows the color gradation of his scales. His ears are long and pointed. Duke’s wings are not typically visible, but when they are they are similar in color to his visible scales, however the skin between his joints has noticeably darker scales that blend with red in the middle of his back. He wears glasses and has yellow eyes with central heterochromia, getting lighter in the middle. His pupils are slitted, but function like a reptile’s eyes, and can dilate accordingly. Duke has several piercings and often wears large amounts of gold jewelry.

During his first few decades living among humans, Duke was very irresponsible and put little to no thought into his future or the futures of others. He survived in this time largely off of the “generosity” of others, and selling jewelry that was, to him, unimpressive. He made little attempts to blend in with humans, wearing largely robes and making minimal effort to use magic to restrain his draconic features. During this time, Duke ate almost only raw meat, as he did not know how to cook and wasn’t interested in learning something “unnecessary.”
Prior to the birth of himself and his brother, Duke’s father served in the military and was often in close contact with humans. Because of this, Duke grew up hearing stories of the human world, and became fascinated with them.

Duke hates cutting his claws down and will often avoid doing so when possible. However, if he’s going on a date with a human or another species without tough skin, he’ll cut or file them down to be respectful.

Duke picked his name impulsively while applying for his paperwork to live with humans as he hadn’t planned ahead and quickly realized his name in Draconic was unpronounceable by most species. He picked his first name from a shipping crate and his surname from a poster for a cabaret girl.

When Duke smoked, he liked clove cigarettes.

In addition to English and his mother tongue of Draconic, Duke also grew up speaking French and initially had a heavy French accent when speaking English. Because of this, he often avoided talking and relied on being handsome to get things he wanted.

Duke doesn’t drive although he knows how because he can just fly distances that he can’t walk. Because of this, if he needs large quantities of groceries, he orders them ahead of time.

Duke has large amounts of nice gold and precious stone jewelry due to his upbringing. He often freely gives people pieces as long as they’re not sentimental and he thinks the person receiving them will appreciate them.

Duke is taller than his brother in bodily height, but his brother has horns that extend vertically, making him appear much taller than Duke. He teases Duke about this often.
