While I’ve always had an enjoyment of art, the thing that got me to take it seriously as a child was wanting to capture Superman and Batman more accurately. I grew up watching the various television shows and movies they spawned, and standing around in stores trying to read the comics before my mom had to leave the section and take me with her. I grew up in a place where there wasn’t really access to comics in general, so the only way to get them was maybe finding a big (expensive) omnibus of them, or hoping the library had them.

As I got older, I learned how to pirate them, of course–but nothing beats holding one in your hands to flip through the pages. Since my childhood, the public library system I’m a part of has a much better selection of comics, although it can be hard to actually check the right ones out when you’re working with the digital checkout system, because they rarely ever name the volumes correctly, lol.

Despite this page being titled for Batman, it’ll probably contain much more about the Rogues gallery. Namely, Scarecrow as he is my favorite Batman villain of all time. (Even though he is written with no consistency whatsoever, which leads me to my next point.) I’ll additionally likely spend time creating my own interpretations of characters based on the facts about them I’ve enjoyed the most across DC media. Similarly, I may also branch out to talk about other DC properties that relate back to Batman at times, like the aforementioned Superman.
