The first Fire Emblem game I ever played was Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, which is a bad game to have as your first because it is not very good, mostly, and also because it’s not even the Fates game which you really are supposed to play first. But it and Birthright were the only two that my GameStop carried at the time, and the cover of Conquest was much more interesting to me as a fan of the spookier things in life. While I did just mention that Fates is not very good–which is true–I’ll always have a soft spot for it and a willingness to defend certain aspects of it, because not all of it was shit.
Since then, I’ve gone on to play all the other 3DS FE games, and Three Houses. While I’ve never lost interest in Fire Emblem, I’ll be the first to admit that the post-3H games, to me, look… really bad. And so to not get annoyed as hell, I chose to not play them.
This page will mostly be works of art and writing related to the game, and likely some live commentary on replays when I inevitably have my Fire Emblem 3DS game relapse.
