I got into JJBA when I was around 15 because a friend I had at the time told me I reminded him of Giorno, and since then I have been trapped in this damn series. While I’m currently (as of May 5) not up to date on JOJOLands, I’ve read all the other parts (the ones written by Araki, at least.) My favorite is easily Steel Ball Run, although Vento Aureo comes in second because I do love fashion and mafia movies. (And, of course, I feel a bit of nostalgia for the comparison to Gio.)

I have a lot less in-depth history with JJBA than I do some of the other things I’ve dedicated a shrine to, but I certainly love it just as much. The music influences, the fashion, and the general chaotic vibe of the series made it an instant and long standing love for me. It’s deeply influenced my art and even clothing style, and it’s introduced me to some artists I hadn’t heard of! (Although, part of my love for the series is that I was already familiar with so many of the cultural references and therefore have a really fun time linking them back to the functions of the stands or personalities of the characters that derive their names from them.

With the release of the Steel Ball Run anime announced, I’m very excited to share my thoughts on it. I’m hoping it does weekly releases like they used to, although with Netflix’s acquisition of Stone Ocean and their decision to release it all at once, I’m unsure if they will or won't. Regardless, you will not be hearing the end of it from me: I miss them everyday of my life, lol.
